Radical Prostatectomy for Prostate Cancer Stage D1

Question of the week:  Should a patient with advanced localized prostate cancer consider radical prostatectomy?

Dr. Barken Discusses the historical classical papers published in the Journal of Urology in Dec 1990  titled: Management of Stage D1 Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate: The John’s Hopkins Experience 1974-1987.  This is one of the few articles comparing Radical Prostatectomy to Radiation or to other treatments in patients who were found during surgery to have positive lymph nodes.
